Seagulls Pin 5-3 Loss on Seattle
|
The San Francisco Seagulls topped the Seattle Emeralds, 5-3, in American Baseball League action at Mission Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of San Francisco pitcher Jerry Patrick. Patrick, the winner, moves to 6-2. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks. San Francisco is now 28-12, 4½ games up in the American Baseball League Western Division.
With San Francisco leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Patrick hit a 2-run single off Seattle hurler Mike Harris. It was the 9th hit of the season for Patrick and put his team ahead, 3-0.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Patrick told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
