Milwaukee Beaten, 7-3, by Kansas City
|
The Kansas City Bulls and Milwaukee Dairymen completed their game despite the rain.
The Kansas City Bulls picked up a win at Independence Field, taking down the Milwaukee Dairymen, 7-3. Starting pitcher Dave Gilson was a big reason why. In 8 innings, Gilson surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Hank Cummings came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Milwaukee pitcher Arnie Keilman, he hit a first pitch sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Kansas City on top, 4-3.
"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Gilson.
The win for the Bulls lifted their record to 21-19.
