Pobladores Pin 5-2 Loss on Dallas
|
Dallas left fielder Pat Simmons had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 5-2, to Los Angeles at Bluff Park. Simmons was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The save went to Larry Seger, his 2nd this season. The win gives Los Angeles a season record of 20-20.
Manuel Castillo hit a run-scoring triple off Steve Coomes in the top of the first, which put the Pobladores in front, 1-0. In addition to the triple, Castillo had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
"It was our day today," Castillo told the Los Angeles Times. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
