Hurons Handed 4-3 Loss by Atlanta
|
The Toronto Hurons got a sterling performance from pitcher Joe Scott, but the Atlanta Generals still prevailed, 4-3. Scott threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Renie White, now 6-2, was credited with the win in 3 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. The setback makes Toronto 19-22.
Ed Mika, who is tied for 7th in the ABL in home runs with 6, took Toronto hurler Ron Haney deep in the bottom of the seventh. His 2-run home run put the Generals on top, 4-3. In all, Mika had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Mika said.
