Montreal Earns 2-1 Win
|
Atlantic Station Field was the site of a tense game between the Atlanta Generals and Montreal Habitants.
Montreal got a first-rate effort from pitcher Erv Koenig, who frustrated Atlanta hitters en route to a 2-1 Habitants triumph at Atlantic Station Field. The winner was Montreal reliever Hervé Lelièvre, now 1-0. The loser was Ron Winder.
Oscar Corte, the 20th overall pick in the 1969 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Corte contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Montreal up, 1-0.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Corte.
At 15-25, the Habitants claim last place in the American Baseball League Eastern Division.
