Terriers Drop Lords, 3-1
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Boston Terriers and the Baltimore Lords, Bruce Shurtleff, who finished 2nd in the ABL in strikeouts with 180 last year, was the difference-maker. The Boston left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win in 11 innings. David Juarez, 3-3, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. The Terriers now have a record of 13-26.
Boston won the game in part because of Roberto Alvarez. The second baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Terriers ahead, 3-1. For the game, Alvarez had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Alvarez.
