Habitants Earn 9-7 Home Win
|
Montreal and Atlanta duked it out and the Habitants came out victorious.
The inspired effort of Atlanta center fielder Matt Legrow was not enough to prevent a loss, 9-7, to the Montreal Habitants. Legrow went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. With their winning streak at 4, the Habitants have raced to a strong start this season.
Mt. Prospect, Illinois-born Frankie Novy came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded and the Habitants trailing 7-6, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Montreal on top.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Novy.
