Detroit left fielder Pete Morrison was sensational. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. New York beat the Wolverines, 6-2. With the win, New York raised its record to 21-18.

Paul Brower, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1963 draft, helped out the New York cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder drew 3 walks in 5 trips to the plate.

Brower called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
