Hurons Need Extra Innings to Top Empires, 5-4
|
In the 5-4 Toronto win over New York, the impact of Jorge Luna was substantial. Luna, who led the ABL in home runs with 28 in 1974, slugged 2 home runs. Randy Robins snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-2 on the season. Tom Duncan suffered the loss. The Hurons improved their record to 17-23 by beating New York.
The Hurons got a clutch hit from left fielder Steve Holley. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Hurons.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said New York manager Dan Whiting.
