The New York Knickerbockers defeated the Philadelphia Quakers, 9-5, at Knickerbocker Stadium. Ray Zink, who is tied for 9th in the NBL in home runs with 6, was a standout performer for New York. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 2 he knocked in. New York leads the National Baseball League Eastern Division by 2 games.
Early in the game, right fielder Ron Palmer had a 2-run double for New York. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Knickerbockers on top, 2-0.
