Habitants Rally to Eke Out Win
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Montreal Habitants and the Twin Cities Northmen, 28-year old right-handed pitcher Rich Barron proved to be the difference. The Montreal right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Habitants win. The Habitants, now 23-18, have won 5 in a row.
Mark Hinkle had a direct impact on the outcome. Hinkle contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 11th inning to put Montreal up, 2-1.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Habitants manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
