Burros Come Up Short at Chicago, 3-2
|
Chicago right-hander Randy Birch helped his team edge Denver by the score of 3-2. Birch kept the opposing lineup in check. Randy Weisenberg sewed up the save, his 2nd. The win gives Chicago a record of 3-2.
John Sledd, who finished 2nd in the NBL in batting average with .341 last year, aided the Chicago cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the third. For the game, the third baseman drew 1 walk.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Birch.
