Traders Rally to Nose Past Los Angeles

Both teams had their chances, but the Chicago Traders eventually prevailed.
The Chicago Traders trumped the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 5-4, at Blockbuster Stadium. Chicago center fielder Fran Precourt was terrific. He was 3 for 5 with a triple and a double. He drove in 4 runs. Randy Weisenberg, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1972 draft, nailed down the save.
Precourt had a timely hit for Chicago in the top of the eighth. With Chicago trailing 4-3, he turned a full count fastball into a 2-run triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season, making it 5-4, Chicago.
Precourt said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
The Traders, at 26-16, lead by one game in their division.
