Packers Topple Bluebirds, 6-2, as Timmons Shines
|
The Cincinnati Packers beat the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 6-2, at Roman Arena. Cincinnati first baseman Stan Timmons had an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The winning pitcher was John Stoddard. He's now 2-4. He went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits for the Packers. The Packers sport a record of 15-26.
With Cincinnati leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Timmons hit a fastball from Jorge Sandoval for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Packers ahead, 4-1.
"I loved our energy," said Cincinnati manager Martin Abresch. "I loved the way we played."
