Emeralds Deal Toronto 5-2 Defeat
|
The Seattle Emeralds got a marvelous performance from pitcher Bill Lemley. The left-hander kept the Toronto offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 5-2 Seattle victory at Dominion Field. Phil Moore wrapped it up, recording his 4th save. With the victory, the Emeralds upped their record to 22-21.
The Emeralds had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 5-2, Seattle, with no one out. Toronto, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Jeff McPhearson dug in at the plate, but on a 0-1 cutter, he grounded out.
