Quakers Win 1-0 Walk-Off
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Philadelphia Quakers and the Cleveland Bobcats, pitcher Bob Freeland was the difference between victory and defeat. The Philadelphia left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 1-0 Quakers win. Philadelphia reliever Darrell Klug picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Joe Clabaugh absorbed the loss. Cleveland's current losing streak is now 4 games.
The Quakers got a clutch hit from left fielder Jim Vadnais. In the bottom of the ninth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Quakers.
"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Freeland.
