Bluff Park hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.

The Dallas Wranglers got a superb performance from pitcher Barry Gilmore, but the San Francisco Seagulls still won the game, 2-1. Gilmore threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Tim Stambaugh, the 11th overall pick in the 1965 draft, was the winner. He's now 6-2. The loser was Barry Gilmore. Paul Wiley was credited with the save for San Francisco, his 1st of the season.

In the top of the fifth, with the game tied, Dallas allowed the Seagulls to go up, 2-1, on a Dallas error.

"Tough loss," said Dallas manager William Albrecht. "Tough one to swallow."

The Seagulls, at 28-15, lead by one game in their division.
