Terriers Sunk by Lords
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Baltimore Lords and the Boston Terriers, pitcher John Pardoe was the difference between victory and defeat. The Baltimore left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Lords win. The winner was Pardoe. He threw 8.0 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Ken Torkelson. Denny Boyd closed the game out for Baltimore, earning his 6th save.
The Lords got a big at-bat from right fielder Joel Moore. For the game, Moore was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Baltimore a 2-0 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Moore told the Baltimore Times.
Baltimore now owns a record of 19-25.
