Lords Pick Up 1-0 Win Over New York
|
The Baltimore Lords got a magnificent performance from pitcher Don Achber, who muffled the New York offense en route to a tight, 1-0 Lords win at Queens Field. The win for the Lords lifted their record to 23-21.
In the top of the seventh, with the game still scoreless, Achber hit a run-scoring single to put his team in the lead.
"That's baseball," said New York manager John Harris. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
