Traders Take Home 3-1 Win Over Los Angeles
|
The Chicago Traders went home winners at Union Field, thanks in large part to starter Bobby Peters. Peters stifled the Los Angeles Blockbusters, enabling Chicago to grab the 3-1 win. The win boosted Chicago to 28-17.
Chicago shortstop Dave Lindsey contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a cutter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 31st hit of the season and put the Traders ahead, 2-1.
"Bobby pitched like a champ," said Chicago manager Larry Link.
