The Kansas City Bulls overcame a pretty good performance by San Diego shortstop Ernie Wilkins, beating the Captains, 9-7, in 10 innings. Wilkins went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Bob Crosby earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 3-5. The save was credited to Dennis Greenlee, his 2nd.

Kansas City used the hitting of Hank Cummings to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Bulls on top, 9-7. For the game, Cummings had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Cummings.

The Bulls now have a mark of 22-22.
