Behind a solid performance from second baseman Ed Cook, the Washington Eagles defeated the New York Knickerbockers, 10-9. Cook went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Eagles. With the win, the Eagles are 15-28.

With Washington trailing 9-6 in the top of the ninth, Cook hit a fastball from Ollie Hundley for a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Eagles ahead, 10-9.
