Generals 2-1 Winners Versus Boston
|
The Atlanta Generals defeated the Boston Terriers, 2-1, in American Baseball League action at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. Atlanta pitcher Rob Banas had a standout performance. In 7.2 innings, Banas surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The Generals go to 16-28, putting them 6th in the American Baseball League Eastern Division.
Wayne Baker, who is tied for 4th in the ABL in triples with 3, had a direct impact on the outcome. Baker contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Atlanta up, 1-0.
"Every loss hurts," said Boston manager David Molina. "But this was a tough one."
