Wolverines Come Back Late, Nip Lords
In a low-scoring tilt between the Detroit Wolverines and the Baltimore Lords, Juan Rodriguez, who finished 4th in the ABL in strikeouts with 172 in 1973, was the difference-maker. The Detroit left-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. The winner in relief was Darrell Klug. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 4-1. The Wolverines now own a record of 19-25.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Booker Lee was at the plate when Detroit scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Wolverines to go in front, 2-1.

"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Lee. "I think we showed that here."
