|
Denver Burros starter Bruce Cardenas worked his magic, to help his team defeat the San Diego Captains, 4-1. The winner was Cardenas. He threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was Dave Fields. The triumph puts Denver at 25-21 for the season.
Denver won the game in part because of Leo Sentner. The left fielder ripped a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Burros ahead, 4-1. For the game, Sentner had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
Cardenas told a Denver Today reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
