Industrials Slap 4-1 Loss on New York
|
Pittsburgh pitcher Jeff Munoz did his part in helping his team beat the New York Knickerbockers, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Bob Cole earned the save for Pittsburgh, his 1st of the year. Their 26-18 record puts the Industrials second in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.
Dennis Visco had a big run-scoring double for the Industrials in the top of the third inning. With Pittsburgh leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from former first round draft pick Danny Abril and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Industrials ahead, 2-0.
"Jeff is a tough competitor," said Pittsburgh manager Vincent Wicker.
