Drillers Score Late, Upend Pobladores, 1-0

The Houston Drillers converted a terrific effort from starter Tom McAteer into a win over the Los Angeles Pobladores at San Vicente Park. The Drillers won the game by a final score of 1-0. The Drillers go to 21-24, putting them 5th in the American Baseball League Western Division.
Mike Lockhart, who is a six-time All-Star, had a direct impact on the outcome. Lockhart contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Houston up, 1-0.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Kurt Peterson.
