Duersch Hits 2 Roundtrippers, Eagles Win, 6-1
|
A 3-RBI performance from Jerry Duersch, who is a two-time All-Star, helped the Washington Eagles beat the Chicago Traders, 6-1. With the win, Washington goes to 3-2.
One pivotal at-bat came with one out in the top of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Chicago trailing 3-1, Bob Viola needed to bear down against Ed White. Viola won the battle, as White hit into a double play and the Eagles went on to win.
