Drillers Beaten By Emeralds, 8-7
|
Houston got a terrific game from center fielder Mark Sisson. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Seattle, 8-7. Sisson was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Pedro Nunez picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 6 runs on 11 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 6-1. The third-place Emeralds have won 4 in a row.
In the top of the third, Seattle right fielder Roberto Salazar had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Salazar stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 4-2, Seattle. For the game, he went 3-5 with 3 singles.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Seattle manager Mark Velez.
