Baltimore Lords starter Nate Summers turned in a workmanlike performance against the Atlanta Generals at Seton Hill Stadium. Getting the save was Don Achber, his 2nd. This win makes it 5 in a row for Baltimore.

Tom Payton had a big grand slam home run for the Lords in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Baltimore trailing 3-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a cutter from Frank Noorani, who led the ABL in saves with 28 in 1972, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Lords on top, 5-3.

"Nate pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Baltimore manager Steve Read.
