Bulls Win, 10-2, at San Diego
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown San Diego Captains take on the Kansas City Bulls.

The Kansas City Bulls thumped the San Diego Captains, 10-2, at San Diego Sporting Complex. Haskell McLemore was a big reason his team got the win. McLemore went 2-5 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Don Callahan snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 4 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season.

The Captains had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Bulls going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Dave Lester came to the plate. Lester hit a 2-run double on a 0-1 curveball from San Diego hurler Dave Gilson. It was Lester's 7th double of the year.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Lester. "I think we're going to keep proving that."

The Bulls improved their record to 36-41 by beating San Diego.
