Habitants Get One-Run Win at Boston
|
Montreal got a strong outing from Hervé Lelièvre as the Habitants defeated the Boston Terriers, 1-0, at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. Lelièvre, now 4-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Al Johns closed the door for Montreal, picking up his 5th save of the year.
Ed Hudson, who finished 5th in the ABL in RBI with 90 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Hudson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put Montreal up, 1-0.
Lelièvre called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
With the victory, the Habitants upped their record to 24-22.
