The first-place San Diego Captains took on the Denver Burros in front of a spirited crowd.

A 3-RBI performance from Troy Stallings, who is tied for 6th in the NBL in RBI with 28, helped the San Diego Captains beat the Denver Burros, 8-1. The Captains lead the National Baseball League Western Division by 5½ games.

Early in the game, Stallings had a 2-run home run for San Diego. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Captains on top, 2-0.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Stallings. "It sure beats the alternative."
