Wolverines Rally to Nose Past Houston
Houston wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Dick Knight, falling to the Detroit Wolverines, 4-3. Knight threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The defeat makes Houston 21-25.

The decisive blow was delivered by Luis Banda in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Ed Myatt to win the game for Detroit. The home crowd went nuts.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Detroit manager Kurt Peterson. "It's usually not just one thing."
