Kansas City right-hander Tom Mitchell pitched his team to victory over the Chicago Traders at Independence Field. The final score was 8-3. Mitchell, who is tied for 3rd in the NBL in complete games with 5, went the distance for Kansas City. He gave up 3 runs on 8 hits. Chicago has now lost 4 consecutive games.

Chris Taylor had a big 2-run double for the Bulls in the bottom of the second inning. With Kansas City leading 3-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a changeup from fan favorite Skip Crawford and swatted a double to center. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bulls ahead, 5-1.

"They had a good approach," Chicago skipper Larry Link said of the opposition. "Hats off to them."
