With Late Score, Burros Beat Explorers
Starting pitcher Francisco Castro gave the Denver Burros a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the St. Louis Explorers, 2-1, at Gates Crescent Park. The winner was Denver reliever John Ferguson, now 1-1. The loser was Randy DeJoseph. With the win, the Burros hiked their record to 26-21.

The Burros got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Ken Hussey. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Burros.

"Everybody in here is a professional. You have to do what you have to do," said Castro.
