Boston Loses, 6-4, in 17
|
Toronto and Boston duked it out and the Hurons came out victorious.
The Toronto Hurons clipped the Boston Terriers, 6-4, in 17 innings at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Toronto pitcher and Houston, Texas, native Joe Scott. The winner was Toronto reliever Ron Gordon, now 3-0. The loser was Larry Alexander.
Toronto needed the clutch hitting of Jorge Luna to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the 17th inning to put the Hurons on top, 6-3. For the game, Luna had 1 home run and 1 single in 7 at-bats.
In postgame remarks, Luna simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
At 21-26, the Hurons are currently 6th in the American Baseball League Eastern Division.
