Northmen Fall Short, 8-7, at San Francisco
|
San Francisco left fielder Randy Golick was instrumental in helping the Seagulls triumph, 8-7, over the Twin Cities Northmen. Golick was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Richie Kolb was the winner. Over 7 innings, he yielded 7 runs on 5 hits, with 7 walks and 2 strikeouts. Getting the save was Chuck Porter, his 2nd.
Bob Raab, who finished 2nd in the ABL in on-base percentage with .373 in 1967, helped out the San Francisco cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the first baseman was 2-4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"We've got great fans," said Raab. "I hope they got what they came for."
Twin Cities is 0-5 after the defeat.
