Packers Down Eagles, 3-2
|
The Cincinnati Packers did just enough to nip the Washington Eagles, 3-2, in 10 innings. Cincinnati pitcher Kenny Foster, in particular, had a standout performance. The win was credited to Rich Pedersen in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ricky Grill took the loss. The last-place Eagles now sit at 17-30.
Johnny Murray, who is tied for 7th in the NBL in triples with 3, had a direct impact on the outcome. Murray contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the tenth inning to put Cincinnati up, 3-2.
"This game tested our mettle," said Foster.
