The New York Knickerbockers got a superb performance from pitcher Dave Torre, but the Cleveland Bobcats still won the game, 4-3. Torre threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The win makes Cleveland 22-25.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Cleveland pinch hitter Buzz Webster, facing Jose Espinoza, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Bobcats the 4-3 win.

"Put a star next to this win," Webster said.
