Pobladores Lose to Drillers in Walk-Off
|
Sam Houston Field was host to some intense drama.
Though he had a terrific game, Bob Settles could not prevent his team, the Los Angeles Pobladores, from absorbing a loss. Houston won the game, 5-4. Settles went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Warner Manning earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-1.
Mark Sisson was the walk-off hero for Houston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Drillers left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Sisson said.
The Drillers bumped their record to 29-19 with this latest triumph.
