Quakers Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Philadelphia Quakers and St. Louis Explorers.
The Philadelphia Quakers downed the St. Louis Explorers, 4-3. The hitting star was left fielder Larry Allen. Allen was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times for the Quakers. Philadelphia reliever Art Wohlt picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Robbie Goolsby was saddled with the loss.
Joe Voss was the walk-off hero for Philadelphia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Quakers third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Philadelphia manager Jeff Green.
The win boosted Philadelphia to 27-21.
