Hawks Fall Short, 6-5, at San Francisco
|
The San Francisco Seagulls racked up a win at Mission Field, bumping off the Chicago Hawks, 6-5. Pete Ragsdale, who started for San Francisco, pitched effectively for his team. Ragsdale, now 4-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 4 runs. The Seagulls lead the American Baseball League Western Division by 6 games.
San Francisco took a 6-4 lead on Bob Raab's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Raab hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Chicago pitcher Kevin Edwards visibly frustrated.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Ragsdale.
