Toronto turned a fine outing from starter Bill John into a victory over the Atlanta Generals at Atlantic Station Field. The final score was 4-1. The Hurons saw their win-loss record go to 24-26. At the same time, the Generals fell to 20-29.
John earned the win to move to 5-3. In his 8-inning performance, he scattered 1 hits, striking out 5 and walking 4. The right-hander allowed the Generals few scoring opportunities.
"All in all, I thought Bill pitched a fine game for us tonight," said Toronto manager Jim Burns.
