Packers Decked By Industrials, 10-1
|
Soggy conditions did not keep Pittsburgh and Cincinnati from playing their scheduled game.
Pittsburgh third baseman Keith MacPherson contributed significantly to his team's 10-1 win over the Cincinnati Packers. MacPherson, who is tied for 4th in the NBL in hits with 66, went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Industrials. Jeff Munoz, credited with the win, is now 5-4. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 9 innings.
With Pittsburgh leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth, MacPherson hit a slider from Damon Rutherford for a grand slam home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Industrials ahead, 7-1.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," MacPherson told the Pittsburgh Bulletin.
With the victory, the Industrials record stands at 30-19.
