Emeralds Clip Seagulls, 4-3
|
In the 4-3 Seattle win over San Francisco, the impact of Roberto Salazar was substantial. Salazar, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1968 draft, went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. The Emeralds improved to 26-23.
Seattle took a 4-1 lead on Salazar's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Tim Stambaugh in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Seattle to the win.
After the game, Seattle manager Mark Velez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
