The Detroit Wolverines got a magnificent performance from pitcher Larry Black, who muffled the New York offense en route to a tight, 3-0 Wolverines win at Wolverine Field. Getting the save was Elmer Bernstein, his 1st. At 26-21, the Wolverines find themselves in second place in the American Baseball League Eastern Division.

Black allowed no runs on 5 hits over 7.2 innings for the Wolverines. With the win, he is 7-2 with an ERA of 1.91.

"I had everything working," said Black.
