Gunter Homers Twice in 5-4 Win
Pobladores first baseman Chuck Gunter left his mark on his team's 5-4 win over the Seattle Emeralds. Gunter, who finished 4th in the ABL in home runs with 33 in 1971, was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for Los Angeles in the contest. The win was credited to former first round draft pick Leon Fairley in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Ron Woods took the loss. So far in 1973, Los Angeles is 21-27.

Los Angeles used a timely hit from Costen Judy to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pobladores ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

Los Angeles manager Kurt Peterson commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
