Los Angeles Triumphs with Late Surge
The Los Angeles Blockbusters got a stellar performance from pitcher Randy Medved, who handcuffed the Kansas City offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Independence Field. Tom Benson earned the save for Los Angeles, his 9th of the year. Los Angeles is now 24-28, Kansas City 26-24.

Kermit McDaniel hit a run-scoring triple off Dusty Solomon in the top of the ninth, which put the Blockbusters in front, 3-2. McDaniel had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.

"Randy had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Los Angeles manager John Trausch.
