Traders Win at Los Angeles, 5-2
|
Chicago parlayed a decent outing from starter Bobby Peters into a solid win over the Los Angeles Blockbusters. The final score was 5-2. Peters, now 5-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. William Matz was credited with the save for Chicago, his 1st of the season.
Chicago used the timely hitting of Jeff Madsen to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Traders on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Madsen attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
