Northmen Suffer 3-1 Home Defeat

Los Angeles and Twin Cities duked it out and the Pobladores came out victorious.
The Los Angeles Pobladores, behind a great outing from Carlos Novoa defeated the Twin Cities Northmen, 3-1, at Twin Cities Stadium. The Pobladores, now 21-27, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
Ron Somers, who finished 5th in the ABL in on-base percentage with .397 in 1970, chipped in a run-scoring single for Los Angeles in the top of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Novoa. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
