Getting a good performance from first baseman Buck DeFalco, the Chicago Hawks defeated the Houston Drillers, 10-4. DeFalco went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Hawks. Kevin Edwards picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 5-2. Chicago's record now stands at 20-31, placing them 6th in the American Baseball League Western Division.

Don Bozza had a big bases-clearing double for the Hawks in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Chicago leading 5-4 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Tom McAteer, who finished 5th in the NBL in saves with 21 in 1966, and swatted a double to left. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hawks ahead, 8-4.

"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," DeFalco said.
