Burros Lose By a Run at San Diego
The San Diego Captains scored a tight, 3-2 win versus the Denver Burros at San Diego Sporting Complex. San Diego pitcher Ron Barc held his own in the contest. Earning his 9th save of the year was Dave Fields. San Diego is now 23-28.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Captains had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when second baseman Dick Howard hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Dick Scorza and made the score 3-2, Captains. Howard was 1 for 4.

Barc told a San Diego Daily reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
