Knickerbockers Deal Bobcats 10-4 Loss
The New York Knickerbockers defeated the Cleveland Bobcats, 10-4, in 13 innings. Much of the credit belonged to second baseman Steve Wright, who went 3-5 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Knickerbockers. The win for the Knickerbockers lifted their record to 26-24.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Dave Lester came to bat in the top of the 13th. Facing Cleveland pitcher Steve Cheatham, he hit a first pitch slider for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting New York on top, 6-4.

"Exciting game to play in," said Wright. "Getting the win makes it even better."
