The Twin Cities Northmen knocked off the Montreal Habitants, 7-5, at Twin Cities Stadium. Carl Jacobs was a big reason Twin Cities won. The right fielder went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Twin Cities is 5th in the American Baseball League Western Division with a record of 22-27.

Jacobs contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Twin Cities in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-0, Jacobs took a fastball from Erv Koenig and stroked the home run to center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Northmen to leap in front, 3-2.

Jacobs described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
