Bulls Absorb 4-0 Loss at Union Field
|
Larry Cox, who is tied for 8th in the NBL with a 1.10 WHIP, imposed his will on the Bulls from the get-go. Relying mainly on his changeup, the right-hander spearheaded the 4-0 Chicago triumph. Cox, the winner, moves to 6-3. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. The second-place Bulls now sit at 29-21.
Ron Byrd came through for Chicago with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. The right fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 1 RBI.
"Larry's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Larry Link, the Traders manager.
