Generals Win 3-2 Nail-Biter Versus Hurons
|
The Atlanta Generals walked off with a big win.
The Atlanta Generals beat the Toronto Hurons, 3-2, in 13 innings, in part because of right fielder Wayne Baker. He went 5 for 6 with 5 singles. The win belonged to Steve Papa in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Dave Hamilton took the loss for Toronto.
The Generals got a clutch hit from second baseman Roberto Palacios. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Generals.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Palacios said.
The Generals saw their win-loss record go to 22-29. At the same time, the Hurons fell to 24-28.
