Wranglers Rack Up 3-1 Win Versus Chicago
The Dallas Wranglers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Steve Coomes, who muffled the Chicago offense en route to a tight, 3-1 Wranglers win at Hyde Park Stadium. Picking up the save was 30-year old right-handed pitcher Dave Gilson. The Wranglers saw their win-loss record go to 25-26. At the same time, the Hawks fell to 22-28.

Dallas used the timely hitting of Chikashi Yoshimura to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Wranglers on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I liked his command," said Dallas manager William Albrecht. "Steve was throwing strikes."
